Got solar panels installed to drop the leccy bills, got a wood burner installed to save on heating and a new boiler. Put my feelers out for a air source heat pump but didnt get great feedback with regard to them. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Rake aboot 4,929 Posted December 30, 2016 Report Share Posted December 30, 2016 Thermal solar panels are a far better bet. They use a glycol system to transfer heat to the hot water system. My roof already has the solar panels on so no room for thermal. I dont think my garden is big enough for ground source so it would be air or nothing. Handy if you don't have spare roof space or much extra money. We're (himself's) currently doing a very smart conversion.
