I'm getting a new heavy barrel soon to replace the 20" sporter. I'm thinking 26" heavy un fluted and also considering changing the chamber to .243 AI. I've spoke to a couple of guys who reckon the 26" barrel is optimum for powder burn and velocity as long as the weight isn't an issue ( it's not ). Does anyone run a 26" barrel ?. And any of you lads with .243 ackley offer any advice if it's worth changing from the standard .243 chambering ?. Quote Link to post
