If you keep them over the winter, you will have to buy in some hay and nuts for them

Buy a few store lambs now and just keep them ticking over for winter and finish them on spring grass, easy as that.

Let them grow a bit. Mutton is the dogs nuts.

 

Butcher them yourself as well.. .22 in the napper and butchered in no time. It`s really easy to do them . Nothing challenging about it.

if you have a fair bit of grass go and see a local farmer or go to your nearest stock market in mid summer time, put on grass when grass is starting to run out start feeding a few fatting nuts , this will also help to catch them when you are ready to butcher them by the time you have no grass at all you will be well into winter so when you kill them it will be nice and cold to hang them over night , thats what i do and it works well for me
