Hi I've wouldn't mind rearing a couple of

Lambs for the table not bottle feeding or any of that. Just buy them put them to grass on our paddock the have them butcherd. What's the best time to

Buy them? And what are the classed as like store lambs or what?

The farms that do goats milk products can't give the male kid goats away and spring goat is as good eating as anything imo i wish i could find a good supply. ..just some food for thought. ..literally

You'll need to get a CPH number etc but I'd highly recommend it. I've just done my second one - had a store lamb first time and just finished making faggots from the trim of a Ryeland hogget today. I was planning on getting a post up on it over the weekend. Good luck!

Id go for mutton any day of the week. Had a ewe done, and she was about 2 and a half, so quite young mutton. Best flavour I have ever tasted, and super tender when roasted long and slow. She actually ate more like beef, With some lovely marbling running through the meat.

Try it, you wont be disappointed
