Right this blueing is all new to me so its going to be a hit and miss job if i get it right   just started the side leaver   it will need another coat but it says leave for a few hours first  

Well lads just got her to day iv had a quick look around her and she is defo in need of some work   but you all know me ill get her sorted   here are some photos to get started   remember this r

and he say,d there still fetching around £450 or there a bouts

 

he has a cracker of a one in the shop

seen them fetch good prices too iv seen battered ones at £300. also seen a diana air king fetch £500 on the internet.

bloody hell jimmy !

can't believe it was that bad inside, it cocked nicely and the firing cycle was good!

its gonna shoot ace now, I'm sure it was putting out about 11.3 lb

i bet it'll creep up a bit now you've polished it all up :icon_eek:

give me a nod if you fancy putting a new spring in, ill send one up!

you've done more than enough with all the time you've put into it :thumbs:

ill try and work out how you start a pm and get in touch with davy, this is going to be a great prize and aft all the effort and time you've put in i want it to make as much as possible!

and once again jimmy thanks for what you've done, i never imagined it would come up as well as you've got it :victory:

rob at pickering guns said it would be worth a few quid when done up and ill be well chuffed when its new owner wins it!!

Si it can do with a new spring but if its shooting at 11,3 then we will see what she is like when i get her back together

 

ill put it over the crono at the rfd,s and see what she is putting out then ,first

 

when i bring it down you can take it and show Rob at Pickering guns and see what he says about it now lol

 

im happy your happy with it .

i was in the shop yesterday getting me bottle toped up and swapping a scope, i showed him your progress...

he was well impressed :thumbs:

just sent davy a pm and ill let you know what the score is when I've spoken to him!

theres an old school boozer next door thats never been touched that sells loads of real ale in 1/3pints

that'll keep you out of trouble or get you into it!! haha

Work done

 

Full strip of the stock all the old stain taken out

 

Sanded the stock back

 

stain,d the stock

 

and true oil,d the stock

 

full strip of the action removed the rust and some of the pitting

 

re.blue,d the action(not the best but a hell of a lot better than she was)

 

re blue,d the side leaver as well

 

sanded back the front site and a little spray of black paint same with the trigger guard (blueing will not take on alloy )

 

Full strip of internals and a check to make sure the seals were ok

 

full polish of the cambers and piston

 

spring ends polished

 

all rust removed and back to looking like new

 

all internals replaced back into the chamber

 

Barrel clean,d out

 

Rifle re built and scopes fitted and test fire.d

 

just a gental nudge in the shoulder now

 

test fired out to only 18yrds but im happy with the results

 

just a week of bee,s wax and buffing now and that i can do with every thing fitted

 

will take her to be crono,d later to day
