Personally I think the standard HW mod is the best for those 80's mate. With a screw cut thread you do have a wide selection of choice though. Not sure if any has tried a 300 quid specialist moderator on one or any rifle the same price as the part.

The thing with springers, and you'll know this, is it will never really be silent with all the mechs going on inside, even if you do find a ultra quiet front end.

Mint choice of rifle though.

Nice one.

Keep it standard inside mate, and the best moderator in the world wont quieten it significantly, now have a listen to a Walther lgv/lgu with a moderator fitted, almost pcp quiet, the reason? They have done such a good job of the internals, that the crack at the muzzle is much louder than the gubbins inside, not the case I am afraid with any standard HW springer, as much as I do like the 80, a really good tune is the only way to get the noise down significantly, dont waste your money on another mod, it wont make any noticable difference.

I am with CC on this . I have tried different mods from named brand to home built ones and imo HW mod is one of the best if not the best

We all hear different any how and it depends when testing mods which way the wind is blowing .

My mate wanted to try a different mod on his r10 ,i stood to the left of him with the wind coming from the left and the standard bsa mod seem really quiet , then stood to the right of him and it sounded a lot louder ,so beware of this when testing
