An Old Smk Refurb This Is Going To Be Pic Heavy Lads

Recommended Posts

The thing is Jim, I don't know what lies beneath the patina of wear. But it has some lovely rich dark tones of colours in the grain so, anything you can do to enhance these is really welcome. You be the judge as you're the man who will sand away all that surface finish and wear marks and see what lies really underneath it all.

You bring out the wood as you see fit sir. You'll do a brilliant job I'm absolutely sure

Mac, as you do so many have you thought about getting yourself a set of cabinet scrapers? only about £10 - £12 for a set of 3 and it'll save a fair bit on wet and dry, just a thought.

Never thought of that where can i get them from

ill have a look on the bay and see if i can get a set off there thanks MG

Here you go Mac,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/3pc-Shaped-Cabinet-Scraper-Set/dp/B001C06BLE

You might want to have a look at this youtube clip first to give an idea of what is involved, and always go with the grain, smooth as a baby's arse.

You might find it too much of a faff though, what with the burnishing.
