There's a lad after saying on the angling forum that he seen 2 Swallows yesterday.

Looks like the storm didn't slow them down.

. My son has just returned from a nights fishing in Gloucestershire, and he saw lots of house and sand martins, also spoke to the local twitcher that told him there have been swallows there since March, he stops by every time we fish up there and is a mine of birdy info so I would have know reason to doubt him

Heard the first nightingale of the year today, and another cuckoo. And yesterday evening I walked into the kitchen and saw a GS Woodpecker perched on a small tree near the bird table. We had a nest in the bottom boundary of the back garden last year, but they have never ventured into the front garden before.

Same here, no sign yet and todays the 13th so that's a bet I'd have lost.

We had a serious days rain here two days ago and the local river was over 200 yards wide (it's normally 4 or 5 yards wide) so I'd say a lot of ducks nests and ducklings gone as well as any Otter cubs.

Do Kingfishers nest early ? If so they've also been washed out of it. A pity if so.

Better late than never, seen a single Swallow along the river Boyne this morning. Great to see them back.

The new pond I seen Tadpoles in for the first time got washed out by the flood during the week and I only see a few in it now. A pity.
