These dogs in these videos were all hunted and didn't stand a chance for most of them it's over before they even know what is happening... And to think some argue about pitbulls could take even bigger cats.....nonsense.. " could take " would be a silly presumption to make and im not about to get into a silly win/lose scenario.........but it would be common sense to assume that in a fight with a wild animal a purpose bred fighting dog would be more capable than a pet/guard dog................similarly to how it would be safe to assume that a pro boxer would be able to deal with a bigger heavier opponent in a street attack better than a night security officer could. A big cat has a mouth and four sets of claws ... They are faster and more subtle than a dog which is going to make them a much more formidable opponent ....... true ken , only 2 breeds (might) have done better is a Boerbol or kangal , in S/A boerbol bred as guards to fight off leopards , that get to close to houses , boerbols go from 100-180lb very powerful dogs, a lad got one by me. it bitch pup like a feckin little tank now , even at 16 weeks old . even the bitches at 120 lb would be a handful for any puma cat size.!! never mind the big males boerbols 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I only actually mentioned it cause there has been lots of debate on here about big cats v dogs. I understand that this is no more probably than either a pet dog or at most a decent guard dog. It did illustrate how easy it was though for such an agile cat to put down and hold a fair lump of a dog, 100% it was dead if the owner hadn't intervened. I know you have been, still are maybe interested in the pitbull so you will obviously back it strongly. Not that I'd like to see it but I honesty think a fully fit Mountain Lion would make just as short work of a fully fit pit dog. These honey badgers et al wouldnt stand a chance against hyenas lions etc but the way the steam in with no fear puts them straight on the back foot Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I wouldnt back a good pit bull strongly to do anything other than put up as much resistance as possible with the tools it has from generations of selective breeding to fight until it cant fight no more......you couldnt expect that of a Doberman or indeed any other dog so it stands to reason that a pit bull would be more capable in a fighting situation than a non fighting breed.....thats all.
