A lot of you on here, will know of Andy Kelly,- net-maker and ferreter.
Who also demonstrates in my Countryside Marquee.
I got this message today from his wife.

 11 December 07:39
hi dave its tonya just to let you no andy was jumped by two blokes at edmundbyre on tuesday, hit over the head and left for dead in a field in the middle of no where, it took the villagers two and a half hours to find him and he needed to be airlifted to carlisle infermary, ive got him home now but he has a broken collarbone in 4 places and a broken upper right arm and a bash to his head. titch was so stressed she has lost her bark and is shaking like a leaf as the farmwer had to look after her and the ferrets on tuesday till i could organise a rescue to get the car,dog and ferrets back. they also stole andys cash and his binoculars that i had bought him for his birthday on tuesday
He is home now, and seems on the mend

Edited
We are having a whip round for Andy and his family to replace what was stolen and to help him get back on his feet whilst he recovers over Christmas.
Any donations can be paid into his PayPal account.

please contact andy via pm for paypal details
Thanks.

Jesus fecking Christ  left for dead for a few pennies and some binos?

How about a whip round on here to replace his binoculars? Sure it's not much but might restore his faith in humanity a bit.

That's terrible ..... wishing him a speedy recovery and I hope who ever did it get what's coming and more...was the motive just robbery or was there something more sinister behind it?

He is a real canny lad. He was ferreting in an isolated place, on his own. So he was lucky to be found so quick.

I have to tell you, it seems it was two lads poaching with lurchers, but Andy had not said anything to them, he was minding his own business.
