Tail Docking

Taking me pups to vets tommorow for tails to be docked some one told me the need to be docked at the size of a two pence what yer think ?

Some vets wont let you have a say in it. But cut it so it looks proportional. Better too long than too short, nothing worse than a stump for a tail.

Your paying they have enough say already if he/she don't do as you wish take them to a vet that will.

Makes me laugh. Most vets are opposed to docking yet they're the worst culprits at butchering tails way to close to the base.

most vets havent a clue on how to dock tails , I watched one once clamp the end of the tail hold it up in the air and cut the tail with a pair of scissors and it was far to short

It has just cost me 70 pound for 7 with dew claws off aswel

Your better using a good sharp chisel and a two pound hammer when they're 12 months or older it's far neater but you need a friend to hold the dog.
