Ive to bring a welding glove to get my ferret out of box and a tin of tuna to get it to come out of hole.

Put phones and ferret finder and anything valuble in secure zip pockets when not using them. Easy for them to fall out your pockets when your out doing a bit. I also put the locator in a wee clear plastic bag to keep the sand and rain out of it as i very rarely get a dry day out.

Check the locator is on and working before entering ferret, also check the collar isn't going to come off while underground.

 

Always keep a look out for keepers, farmers or landowners.

When your caught on land you shouldnt be on. Tell them you have permission for neighbouring land and you must have strayed. Be polite apologetic then ask for permission.

Nans Pat, that's reminded me of another one...use an old telescopic aerial from a radio taped to the side of the ferret finder to save you bending down too.
