jayw 16
Hi i have a walther rotex rm8 i find it quite long with hw silencer on and far too loud without a mod on,so im contemplating maybe getting it shortened and re threaded just wundered how much this would likely cost? Also would it need to be re blued afterwards Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
A ballpark figure for cutting and threading a barrel is £40-60. No it wouldn't need rebluing after. Quote Link to post

jayw 16
Wil it affect the power and accuracy by having it shortened? Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
Wil it affect the power and accuracy by having it shortened? less power more noise a little on a pcp .Accuracy ??? Edited January 31, 2015 by barrywhite Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
You will lose power, no doubt about that. PCP's gain a good deal of their velocity through long barrels. You'll get a louder muzzle blast as well. More noise and less power, so be sure you really need it shortening before you go ahead. 1 Quote Link to post
jayw 16
Might be better off trading in for something shorter then rather than butchering it Quote Link to post
Tron 173
No need to have the barrel re screwcut simply shorten the barrel from the breech end! as noted by Rimfireboy you will lose velocity by shortening the barrel, the problem you have then is its allmost impossible for the average owner to adjust the power up by the fact that the transfer port screws are hidden by two steel ball bearings that are pressed into the holes covering the adjustment screws, Good luck!. bigmac 97kt 13,732
Just get a shorter silencer for it and keep the power and the accuracy the way it is there are some good dumpy silencers out there that will do the job and make the rifle look and feel smaller jobs a good un atvbmac  1 Quote Link to post
