Goldie cock and greenie hen

Keep a greenie cock too,,when the hen starts building put the greenie cock in a wire cage and stick it on the front of the flight a couple of times a day, the hen will call to be mated and the goldie will nail her..:-)

One for Tufty, its an old picture taken before digital, these were paired in a canary double breeder, got 5 chicks off them that season

Thats not a bad price to be fair....but your never going to get it winning them cross channel races in a coat like that it doesnt even look waterproof ....you wasnt joking when you said you have a lot

Do you use this method with all your hybrid pairings?

Nope

It can work with certain crosses

Always works well with greenie hens

I always bred canary mules using greenie hens works a treat

But everyone will have their own ways of breeding

It works well with most birds, if there not doing it on there own.

The method I use with bullfinches (new pairings) separate with wire in flight/double breeder until they are showing signs (feeding hen and so on)if she is still not interested, remove cock from eye/ear shot for the day.

Next day put it in with the hen, and most of the time she will present her self in a matter of minutes. If not repeat the process

But with breeding nothings guaranteed.
