A Few Hours Out And Two In The Bag That Dose Me

Went to the farm to drop the Xmas drink off for the owners .

 

Well it would be disrespectful not to have a wander around and i had a good chin wag with the farmer he asked me if there was much left as he had not seen out about for a while

 

I say,d there was but not much he then say.d in all the years he has had this land and had shooters on it i was the only one that fetched him and his wife a Xmas drink and thanked me for that.

 

He then say.d he had been talking to some of the other farmers about me and Sean(vislauk) about how good we had sorted things out at the farm ,even helping with the cows and fixing fences and helping with the sheep and he say,d some of them were well impress t and that they would sort some thing out for us so you never no we may get more land it would be nice.

 

Well after a natter off i went the first field was to water logged and you could hardly walk on the dam thing so over the fence and i lit up a nice sitter about 60 yards away and with the wind in my face off i went to close the gap .

 

I got to with in 40 yards and with a kneeling shot sent one bis mag on its way just a little to the right of its eye and over it went .

I love this 177 there is no back flip , no jump it just rolled over dead . I did miss two more my eyes are not as good as they used to be lol so off back to the car had a drink of IRON BREW and a bite to eat and off i went again .

 

Nothing in the paddocks so over the gate and down the field we call the long walk half way down i came across the second one hunkered down in the long grass so the same as before kneeling shot i sent one on its way and over it went perfect shot (must of been the IRON BREW) .

 

Again no back flip and no jumping around every one iv shot with this scorpion 177 bar one has just rolled over WHAT THE FECK HAVE I BEEN MISSING ALL THESE YEARS.

 

But in saying that out of all the rifles iv had in 22 if there was one that i could have back it would be the raider .

 

Miss her miss her loads.

 

Well not a lot about after that so headed back home only the two but had a good night out and about beats sitting in watching sh*t on the box

Your right TC the field we call the long walk has a slight incline walking down is no problem but walking back fecks you even on a good day.

 

Vm nice shooting to bud i saw plenty but as soon as the lamp hits them there off looks like ill have to save the penny's up and get an NV scope

 

as iv say,d my mate offered to lend me one but i would not settle in case any thing happened to it what are they like to use as some say there hard to judge the distance with i dont no as i would be new to this as iv only looked through one once before

 

all these years shooting and iv all ways dune it old school with the lamp there is still plenty to get but very very very lamp shy its ether a NV or wait until the light nights and lay in wait for them lol

Yes ,2 minutes day of more light , but Mac it only 26 weeks until the nights start drawing in, so get some NV sorted

Shooting Mac .

So. so underestimated the .177 cal mate. You are the same as me - all those years on .22. Well the remaining years wont.

Sat under a good sitty tree for three sessions now and taken 14 wood pigeon and 5 carrion crows (head shots) with 3 misses (wind) its the Indian i use .

Not shot a Scorpion yet but my mates rate them well.

Cracking rifles the scorpion t10,s had two the other was 22 but this 177 just blows my mind

Funny how we get stuck in our ways. I am like that, .22 S410 for rabbits, .177 Ultra and Gaystate Ballerina for pigeon and rat etc.

When I have used the Ultra recently ( I put an open sight on it ) its taking rabbit as good as a .22.

 

New Years resolution coming I think. "Open your mind".
