Hello one, thankfully that daft law hasn't arrived here yet. But if in scotland you could easily use a waterproof sticker or metal ring with number attached, when setting the hoop place a leg through the ring and leave it, its visible on the floor then, or if not a waterproof sticker doubled over then use a permanent marker.

Within the codes of practice you shouldn't fix to a fence due to entanglement but buy fitting a wire along the ground on a non return link as the fox comes from the fence it will not allow him to return to the area where he could get tangled up.

I'll try get a drawing up on here if u like

as of yet there is not definitive legislation making the setting of fox snares on fences illegal the codes of practice are only guidelines and are not the letter of the law yet

THE ONE,,we use a small 25mm metal tag with a 3mm hole insert the leg of the hoop snare and use a wrap of gaffer tape above and below the tag to secure it then squeeze the tag to lie along side the leg of the hoop very discreet and works
