my dad is takeing me out this afternoon with my 410 is it any good for cock pheasents?

Sure is youngbuck. As with all shotguns, you have to put the shot in the right bit of air for it to work.
Don't try for too distant a shot,there is a lot less lead fired than a 12 bore. My .410 is a tightly choked O/U,and will take 3" shells.
The longest shot I have taken was a (successful) 40 yard rabbit.I would probably use 2" or 2 1/2" for pheasant with #6 shot.

kepp at it, i use a mosberg pump for pigeons, keep to reasonable distances great guns shoot them all day long.
