Bit of rust removal called it a night for tonight

Got it stripped down the problem seemed to be the piston had jammed in the cylinder the piston washer was holding it fully cocked !! The washer is kaput and on the lookout for a replacement any sugges

Im thinking of redoing the raider and staining her black this time as she dose have some nice grain in her but im not sure on re bluing her as iv never dune it before so may need your help after my moment of madness and putting her up for sale i think she needs to retire in a,1 condition as rez has said in a post she has earned her keep twice over and needs to retire in peace ,and if i make a mess of it i can all ways send her down to you lol to sort out atvbmac :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

Yea no worries mac . I find its trial and error mainly finding a blueing that takes to your metal I'm going to hot blue the next one for a change but the liquid cold blue I think is just as strong only gun it's not as good on I've found is hw's after speaking with Aaron wheeler he said the same it's something to do with the mix of metals they use and prefer hot blue . Yea go for it mate best tool is a bench grinder with wire wheel not too course then fine empty cloth and finally wire wool got the airsporter like glass from scabby as hell .

I'm struggling to find a small ball bearing for the loading port index spring need around a 4 mm one will have to pay for one from chambers by look tried cycle shops and even a bearing manufacturer yesterday both equally Un helpful lol

Well matty iv stripped her AGAIN and this time im going to stain her black but im still not sure about bluing her i made a mess of the twink the last time so i stripped it down to but the barrel and chamber are not that good under the paint so i may just paint them back up again

Matty all the paint was taken off with these wipes that have a solvent on them there mint they take the paint off in a few wipes there called graffiti wipes and no need for sand paper at all but the steel work is bad so im just going to prime and re,paint it sorry im not high jacking your thread atvbmac :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

Mac. Did you just use sand paper for this mate? I'm doing my 97 stock at the moment and yours has come up perfect for a 'new start'
