Alimac2 321
No interested in bag numbers just curious how areas are doing, in ne Scotland there seams to be more around than recent seasons , but the cold rainy crap from the north has made for some bitter days on the hill. 2.8 guy 403
Just had beater/keepers day up layburn was a brillant day I had a brace for 23 shots Oooppppsss Is that it now for that shoot and was it walked up or did you take it in turns behind the buts It can get a bit hairy sometimes if guns are in the line and its not straight lol Quote Link to post
farmerkev09 104
Was a brilliant day 4 drives all in butts each butt has 2 guns one shooting forward the other back then taking it in turns who's shooting were I should of shot better but I don't have the money to practice so Al have to rely on luck Quote Link to post
farmerkev09 104
Yes that was last shoot formally but I was talking to the keeper and a few HPR and pointer clubs come together and walk the full moor, over a few days for the count and they take any pricked or weak birds out ready for next year's strong breeding stock Quote Link to post
2.8 guy 403
Sounds like you had a great day just been up there in that scenery is enough, The grouse keeping is very much a science these days you need to leave so many birds for the breeding but not too many so they dont get stressed hence the counts I know a couple of keepers from that way ian sn... and richard iv.... both on the grouse and both good lads atb 2.8 Quote Link to post
