I shoot a Ruger #1 in 22.250, had it for 5 years, after plenty of reload experiments, using 'posh' bullets

i.e. Hornady V-Max, Nosler Varmint and contrary to what the 'books' say?

Mine shoots with 55gr Sierra GK hollow points, over 34grs of R15, so what the!!

Going to the CLA Saturday & Sunday, see you there?

Just had the phone call today from the FEO and got the variation for a .223 granted.   Its going to be used for lamping foxes, any advice for me with regards to buying a second hand gun and scope w

No the case from .243 is bigger, as that is just a necked down .308, the .22-250 is as SS says a necked down .250 savage case, and began its life (as so many did) as a wildcat cartridge, the .250-3000

Hornady 53gr superformance zeroed at 1 1/4" high at 100 yards then just point and shoot on a fox sized target out to 300 yards. its fast, flat shooting, deadly accurate and very hard hitting.

Sierra are brilliant bullets pal,my .243 shoots tiny cloverleaf groups with Sierra 80gn blitz under 45 grains of h414/win760 it flattens foxes like a light switch being turned off, and is also very good on deer, it is my go to all round bullet in the .243 if I wanted anything heavier it would be Sierra game king 100 grain
