Outlaw Pete 2,224
TC; Yes, mate. That's pretty much the thing I mean. " Daylight " stuff. Only, due to the situation I'm working with, I need strips. I'm not sure if those ones are dimable. But ye use a couple of bulbs in conjunction with the strips too. Taz explains it all at the top of the first page
Outlaw Pete 2,224
F**king Ouch!!! Little up date / Finale to this one! No one told me This ....! I finally got it screwed down to my needing Arcadia T8 tubes and Starters. Two of each then. And, it seems, the prime source for this stuff is a bloke in Germany. On ebay. (Obviously, his prices are gonna reflect the market. He'll be little more or less than anyone else) But, The Horror!!! F**king tubes are, about twenty quid a piece. Dozen postage. Let's say £30.00 each. Starter Units though? They come in at about Fifty F***ing Quid a throw!!! :icon_eek: F**k Me!!! Hundred and sixty quid plus! And, that's On Top Of a control unit that sells for well over a ton! That's, effectively, the better part of Three F**king Ton, just so my birds won't be in the shade! I could have built a f**king aviary!!! Honestly; I reckon some of these boys with the big Bird Rooms need investigating! I'll bet they play golf on week days too! Outlaw Pete 2,224
Ah. Sorry, TC. No. I've just always used the term " Starter " for the whole thing that we need for our strip lights. (I used to breed amphibians, so I had a couple of lights then. Maybe being able to work more and earn more took the sting out of prices, back then?) This is what I need ~ two of. And, those lights are reptile ones. They do a slightly different wave length for birds.
