Mawders 595
Hi Matty, looks like your having some fun and games with this tx. Just wondering why you opted for a Titan spring which really are horrible springs when you could have ordered an air arms one for the same amount. Those titans have that name for a reason, I've heard of so many rifles having those fitted and being wildly over the limit. Let us know how your getting on with that under leaver locking bit. mattybugeye 884
Just went with that as I was going to order the welsh willy kit and they are the springs he uses with own top hat and spring guide so thaught I'd try it removing top hat and adding washers tbh pretty glad I did its pellet on pellet now and hardly any kick at all had 20 mins this morning with it and its dropped to 10.5 but is consistent as hell now going to put another 100 pellets through it see how settles down then possibly add 1 more pre load washer to bring power up The titan spring is a million times beter than the ox spring that was fitted did think about ordering the aa kit and if not happy after few hundred shots I may well order 1 just playing about with options at min bud I've bodged up the underleaver bit for now going to tap it out next job I think Quote Link to post

mattybugeye 884
Seen as I was going round in circles with the re tapping I made a start on stripping the horrible blueing With blueing removed could see a lot of pitting so had to rub down with different grades of wet and dry 5 hours in total last night and still not there will do bit more later then get it all same using wire wool went with Phillips blueing as used it on a shotgun last year and worked a treat The birch blueing stripper I used absolutely stinks and has stunk the house out (probably shud of done it in garage but too cold lol) so I'm still in dog house with our lass over it but think me removing the varnish from dining table didn't help haha sure she will cheer up soon I'm going to replace all bolts with brass so not bothering to reblue them In 2 minds about what oil to use after blueing used som diff oil last time that worked ok mite use either motor oil or linseed dunno yet any one used either before? Will go get a m6 bolt today for underleaver part will post more pics later when all rubbed down Edited February 5, 2014 by mattybugeye Quote Link to post
