Okay. To quote myself, exactly, on viewing that shot ....?

" Ohhh My F**king Goddd!!!!!

Oh Jeeezuss Christ!!!!! "

I think that's one more for me to aim for! Don't you? I mean; That is just pure, hard core, bird pornography!

And, the beauty is? There's probably a genetic blue print out there. I'd need to cross an A with a C. Producing 25% D's. Which I'll need to pair with a Male E (Recessive) and then find an H (Carrier) to .....

And each step of the way would likely take a Very good and lucky Year!

F**k!!! This is Great!!! :boogy:

what i was told ..... 2 intensive birds should not be paired as it will result in the chicks having the lethal gene .....

Yep! Reading about that, only yesterday! There's a whole load of mis matches to avoid, because of the Lethal Gene!

I can send ye the piece. It's a chart. But, highly covered by copyright claims, so I can't just throw it up on here.

Glosters? Funny, isn't it; They f**king repulse me! Hate the things! As I do those bloody Norwich.

But, isn't this the beauty of canaries? Red one's. Yellow ones. Green ones. White ones.

Big ones. Small ones. Fat ones. Skinny ones. Ones with basin cuts. Ones with deformed f**king spines and featherless thighs ~ if ye sick enough to want to look at that, of course ( :bad:)

I was looking at those 'Exploded' birds, last night. Feathers sticking out at all mad angles. Looked like feather dusters a cat had got at. Not my cup of tea. But, some cute things in there.

Dunno. I s'pose, with a life long interest in Wild birds; I'm just fixated on this natural, tight bodied, wild finch look.

Finches, naturally, come in all sorts of colours. Nothing wrong in developing new colours, in domestic stock.

I just can't stomach some of the, seemingly, physical exaggerations.

Small, tightly feathered, 'natural looking' and calm bird of any colour under the sun.

There's the basis of Pete's future breeding programme.

Like the stuff I see on my feeders. See in my hand. And ring. Real birds

Though, if they should happen to turn out as Unreal colours, such as red/black cobalt x onyx? Who the F**k should complain?! :icon_eek:

I want to breed a nice crested red just because i like them and cannot find any :)

That's what turns me on, about all this!

This unstoppable sense of; 'I'd love to breed That colour!'

'I wonder what would happen if I crossed X with Z?'

How the F**k can I produce a Turquoise canary with .....

God. There's a life times work in this! Maybe I'll just buy a couple of birds, the colours I favour. Fart. Poison them with it. Then keel over and die myself?!

Ive got one of them blue ones nice little bird......

Pappabear are you the chap i had my red factors and red mosaics from ?....I cant remember by name but the pictures look familiar.....

Id steer clear of them Glosters i cant stand the f****n things wish id never got them its like sitting watching paint dry they dont sing dont move and after a while even " the look " wears thin......im not 100% but i think with Glosters you have to breed a Consort and a Corona to get the wig come out and im not sure ive ever seen a red one but who knows.

hi gnasher , you had red factors and red/black cobalts from me , how are they getting on . i had a rat get in the aviary and take all my birds apart from 7 of my canaries so they are indoors at the moment , might have to rethink the glosters as dont want a lazy bird just sitting still .
