Nothing wrong with the runt of the litter,my whippet was the runt and she's a cracking little dog, same goes for her mom and she was a crazy worker, she was retired early for her own safety as was to headstrong and would never come back without the rabbit regardless of what she had to smash through to get it lol go for it

Runts often have domed heads, wider apart eyes than usual, or bug eyed. Their legs may be very lacking in bone too, and they are usually only half the size of the rest of the litter. Big difference between a small pup but normally formed pup and a true runt, as bunnys said. I've tried to rear true runts, and they often have something internally wrong with them too: dodgy digestive system or heart. Not worth the risk if it is a true runt.

like i said i wouldnt choose the runt myself, had a bitch myself years ago last of the litter so never got to see the rest but she was small from day one truth be known, had her put down 2 year later serious heart murmour, yes plenty good luck storys it seems bringing on a runt just not for me if id the choice
