Recommended Posts

I am aware that dumascus in general is a verry good metal for a blade but not sure about the different grades, i am thinking of buying a blade, it is damascus steel is 150-200 layers of low carbon steel and high carbon steel. The hardness of the steel is 56 HRC.

how dose this sound ?

Just keep in mind, that carbon damascus steel is a material that need some looking after and it would not be a good idea to leave it in a damp sheath etc. After a wet day out, wipe it with a oily rag and store it out of the sheath in a dry place and if you look after it well, it will look after you for years to come. It is not a lazy man´s knife.
