The Hlf Davids Versus The Hft Goliaths (Meet 3 At Odp).

Back to Rivi then? Suits me, I thought it was a fantastic venue, or anywhere else would be better than the old downs course has become this time round. It's the folk there, not the venue, that make these meets so fantastic so it really doesn't matter where they happen, as long as they do!

:hmm: I'm genuinely angry reading this. I feel that people I genuinely respect and care about have been insulted to be honest. Darryl, I know at least, has driven a hell of a distance and others from other far away areas too. I came down from Yorkshire for the Sunday HFT but at least I was with Helen and staying at her place in Chippenham 40-miles away.

There are shooting grounds about the country that would welcome a group of shooters like ours, with everything tip-top and in proper working order for a lot less than this miserable money-grubbing something-for-nothing bugger at ODP has held his hand out for. A bill for £360 for the privelege of a bit of fun-shooting and a course of HFT targets in piss-poor condition, a couple of night's camping in a boghole of a field, bring-your-own-loo and a cold shower is a disgrace.

I had a great day out with Helen and seeing some lovely lads here again and shooting with Wurz/John and Nigel. Once you are soaked you are soaked and that's that. We had a great crack, helped eachother address each target and got the best we could out of our guns and scopes under the conditions present. There's nothing you can do about the weather; it is what it will be. Helen now wants a PCP so she can join in and even up the ladies side!

But, to hear of what the final cost has come to, is very annoying. It really has spoiled the good feeling we came away with, after meeting up with some great friends here; that at least the weather has been kind over the previous days' events and everyone has had a great meet.

Roll on Rivington, or anywhere else that would welcome us better than this.
