Homemade Nightvision For Air Rifles

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has made their own nightvision set up for their air rifle. I only have £80-£100 to spend, I have a lamp so could I put a ir filter on that? I've seen it done but just not sure what I need. Could someone please make a list of everything I would need, it only needs to be for up to 40 possibly 45 yards, anything that might help would be much appreciated, many thanks, ATB Dan

1/3 bullet camera get a sony effi there around £60 this is the most important bit

12v lithium battery ebay £8

12mm board lens £3 this is the correct lens size whish will give you the closest sight to wat u would see if ur eye was looking through it.

tft lcd 12v screen £10 ebay various sizes available from 2.5 to 5" I went for 3.5

red and blue gel filter to put over ur lamp if its a led one forget about it as the light a led emits will not pass through any filter very well

and a few other wee bit and bobs rca to bca adapter for cam to lcd and a power splitter 3.5mm power lead £2ish

for mounting the best I have seen is off a guy on utube called rollaids bench look at his vid 3.0 I think he has it set up so one bolt removes everything I have copied this idea on to mine.

good luck its easier than you think

your better off making your own the quality you will gain over a handycam is amazing if you get a good eliminator nm800ir £150 :icon_eek:

Or spend a bit more on the NVD and then you don't need to throw a lorra lorra light at the quarry.

Especially given you only need it for an air rifle.

I use sony nightshot with my NM800 IR, stunning view.

cheers for that mate. was wondering which nm i should use as some cameras are more sensitive to different frequencies. and i was thinking about the cree lights but they dont travel very far. i dont really want to spend more than £20 on an illuminator as the camera was only £45 and i could pobably make an ir illuminator for £20.
