Just a few pics of this years mules, mainly goldies but a few linnets as well, these all hatched this week and there's been a few more since these pics were took last week,WM   goldies   this hen

If you don't ask you won't know bud and you don't have to feel any question is stupid in this section, were all here to learn and share what we know . .

A few updated pics, the goldie mules are all together now to moult out and the last of the eggs,4 goldie mules hatched on thursday and so thats it now,31 goldie mules and 9 linnet mules, not bad for the

The hen can influence their shape, colour and song mate yeah.

This is my take on genetics as well gnipper, but there are many out there that swear the hen bears no influence on colour and I hate having to argue "mengeles law" with older men that swear otherwise and so I've rung each hen and goldie cock with a coloured ring and recorded the progeny with the correct matching colour to see how the statistics bear out, many only keep goldies that are "pea throat" and get rid of the rest,I will be interested on all comments by people with a lot more experience than me,thanks,WM

a closer pic and you can see the eggfood, oats, grated carrot, grated

broccolli, peas, blue maw and a bit of teazle, sometimes a bit of finely grated

cuttlefish for the hens,I keep this in the fridge along with my greens, atb,WM
