I don't know exactly what do you mean by "mix", it means to bite ? If it means to bite, they are more barkers than mixers. Betty, the left one on the pic, is my best jack (10 badgers in 5 hunts this

We have a lot of different breeds, specially concerning hounds and large dogs.
But we haven't any french terrier breed. 
Long time ago, they used somme bassets to dig (below venerie from jacques de Fouilloux, How to hunt foxes and badgers with dogs - 1561).
Since the XIXth century, french terriermen use some teckel, fox, russell ou jagd. Lines are old nowadays but all were coming from GB or Germany.
