I aint got no kids but when i was a kid we grew up with a staff from the age of 2 years old. we used to swing him round by the tail pull his ears do all the wrong things kids do to dogs the dog never batted a eyelid to us he used to roam the streets with us and was super protective of us when me mam was after beatin us never tried to bite her or shown aggression just used to grab her arm or sleve and stop her dishin the licks out we used to shout him when she was on us for f****n about haha in my opinion certian dogs can be trusted with kids 100 percent and certian dogs shuldent be alowed near kids supose its another round about argument cos all dogs and all owners are diffrent so no ones gonna agree on it. Editid to say at the same toie we had a jack russle and if we f****d about or was rough with her she whuld nip us we soon learned not to

I am on the fence with this one... I believe working dogs should live outside, they do need their own space and many dont really suit living as part of the family and i would never have trusted my old patts with young kids in a million years. My current dog does live indoors... Not because i want him in the house, but because of theives and he is really not suited to being in the house but thats life!

I prefer the dogs outside they got there own space and can do pretty much what they want but they get in the house and cause no problems

My dog doesn't smell too good at the best of times, bleeds like a pig on occasions & doesn't like being touched when its sore........outside.

there was 6 kids in my family. we never was without a dog in the house. i have reared another four into there twenties surouded by working dogs. any litters i have had have been reared amongst folk. socialised within a family atmophere.  my dogs are well ajusted and my family are also taught to respect the animals. ive nothing against outside dogs but feel they are a more rounded animal if socialised. and i would agree that dogs are dogs and can never be trusted a 100%  thats where common sense and good management and education come into it.   ive never seen anything that affects working ability and the main worry to concern me is what they can bring home after a day out in the field. flea's ticks etc all the best

You can say what you want fella but if you can't train and socialise your dogs to live happily amongst kids then perhaps you need to keep a different animal .......
