davis8008 65 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Share Posted October 31, 2012 I've got a 2004 Nissan terrano 2, 7 lwb had it two years now and it's got through both mot's with no trouble! The only thing I've had go wrong with it is antiroll bar and front shocks but I was driving over a ploughed field fairly fast so only got my self to blame for that! As for fuel consumption I did Peterborough to Southampton and back witch is 140miles each way on £75/80 (wasn't going under 85mph most of the time) I've given the truck a lot of stick and it's still going strong! I'd recommend them to any one! A mechanic told me the other day that they have the same engines in them as the new black taxis! Don't know how true that is tho! Because they are all pre 2001 the road tax is cheap, £220. insurance is piss cheap, parts are cheap, they are spacious as hell with a big square rear end for getting muckle boxes, dog cages etc into, they go anywhere,, brilliant offroad. they are comfy, quiet, and look the nuts as well. 27mpg is something I could live with . Rake aboot 4,929 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 Much better equipped rust free motors, the shoguns I looked at were utter shite so I imported my own Pajero. 12 yrs old and the boltheads on the chassis were like new. No contest. The interior was better, The japs like to add bling so it had shedloads of extras. Lower milage cause they won`t drive in the rain, no salt put down during winter,, tbh I`ve imported 3 motors now and there is no contest when you stick them next to the equivelent brit counterpart. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
desertbred 5,490 Posted November 1, 2012 Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) i imported a swb t/d pajero 2.5 manual over 8 years ago have put new two new batteries, brake pads and changed the oil 4 times lol been from uk to Bulgaria and back 4 times use it every day here, get great mpg they will run on veggie oil as well passed mot every time no problems same bulbs everything still on it as the day Iimported it get the manual rather than auto they are a bit thirsty. only problem with 2.5 it is belt timing where as the 2.8 is chain.Just keep your eye on the running temp as thermostats can be dodgy leading to failed head gasket other than that handy prices spares readily available and the insurance play clever calling them grey imports so they can put extra on the insurance Edited November 1, 2012 by desertbred Quote Link to post Share on other sites
