hunting land share next big thing...what do u think ?

Recommended Posts

a bit like this section .. but fare more detailed and advertised .... iv had loads of swaps on my facebook page already ... theres definatley a market out there for the website

There is a market because there are shed loads of lads without any permission.

What I dont think there is a market for for lads that are willing to offer their own permission for or land owners that are prepared to allow people they dont know onto the land. I have about 6000 acres and could offer someone the chance to run/shoot/ferret on it if I was not too concerned about hanging onto it. But... whats in it for me? a return invite onto someones 2 acre pony paddock?

I think you are going to have to be very careful that you do not have your trust abused!

i dont think the farmers i go too would be happy about strangers that i haven't even met walking around there fields and building. trust is hard to build. how would you feel if it was your back garden

Why is everyone tarnishing people with the same brush. Saying it's to open to abuse if that's the case nothing would happen or business idea be a success. If people want to abuse something they aren't

Again think this is a good idea for people without permission to shoot and the correct people to make money.

That last statement sort of sums it up.

Point 1, 'people without permission' where are you gonna get all the land to go on then? You going to have all members of this paid for club trampling all over the OPs daft 700 acres, slaughtering everything on there and the farmer is going to encourage it?!?! People are only going to join because they are unable to get permission themselves and by definition these will probably be the people you dont want joining.

Point 2, 'correct people to make money' is that you matdog49? lol you are trying to commercialise something that will not work and the people will abuse it from day 1. I have seen similar ideas on here thought of every couple of years and it wont work. Go on the 'share a hunt section on here and count the ratio of people offering days out to those asking to be invited onto someone elses land!

You're always gonna get genuine sounding folk who turn out to be backstabbing arseholes who might contribute to you losing acres of permission, had it happen to myself but luckily I got my permission back.....only to lose it 6yrs later to another backstabbing arsehole, thats why I had to give up the terrierwork lost 4500acres

the only way this IDEA would work is if land owners sold there hunting rights to people.

NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR ANYONE ON THIS SITE!!!!!!!!

imo permission should be paid for with a smile, good manners, hard work , good pest control, friendship, and maybe a bottle of whiskey at xmas . NEVER MONEY

whats wrong with the old fashion way of obtaining permission. it works . when you prove your self on one farm others follow. it helps to teach us how difficult it is come by. therefore we respect and look after it.

commercilise (spelling) field sports and you run the risk of killing the heart of the sport.

Hi

I'm not matdog and yea bearinator was kind to take me out on his permission which I was thankful of however why say 'the people who can't get permission is the people you don't want'?

People need to pay to shoot pheaseant etc so why can't a airgun syndicate work?

Thanks

There was no insult in that mate. Its because those who dont have any permission have nothing to offer back into the pot (permission wise)

People pay to shoot pheasants to have them reared/fed/days organising / birds driven etc etc. Paying for shooting rabbits with an air rifle is just not needed IMO if you throw enough effort at gaining permission it will happen eventually

Hi

I understand why people pay to shoot game I work on a shoot and we've discussed as part of our syndicate to offer vermin shooting g to members/friends in the closed season and thought this idea could work.

I understand how protective people are over their permission and like wise I would but land is getting less and less and to keep this sport alive and introduce the younger generation this would be ideal for air gunners.

I guess I am different than some folk and my views are just my own and not degrading to others.

Offering to have people pay to shoot the vermin on the shoot is more likely to work IMO providing the amount of shooters balances with the amount of stuff to shoot. providing properly vetted etc

Its more the pot of permission that would need to be put up by the club members that I think would be more difficult and open to abuse, especially with the discrepancies in the amounts of land people would have to offer. Like I said if one person has a 2000 acres farm and another member had a 5 acre paddock. where is the incentive? Unless you could categorise the membership in some way to only put people together with simialr amounts of land/game on it.

I still think the best way to do it is with a group of mates who all have land and can alternate between farms/areas. This would be free and less likely to be open to abuse.

I have taken lots of people out in the past and as far as i know never had anyone go back but when I meet people for the first time I only go to certain farms where you have to park right outside the farmhouse so someone couldnt get away with it really.

I hope it takes off for the lad, better then his guided ferreting tours did lol. But myself its not somethign that I would do, it just wouldnt be fair on the people who have given me permission
