FAC Arrives... Bank balance takes a hammering!

Recommended Posts

Well guys i just got back from a 3 day fire course to find my FAC had arrived!!

Sent away the paperwork on the 12th of may, had my interview on the 31st of may and FAC was delivered to my house on 15th of june. So 36 day in all, not bad i'd say!

Gave a quick call to my local gun dealer and went for a look this afternoon..

Ended up buying a new CZ 452 style 22" in .17hmr and a A-tec mod never got a scope or rings so any suggesting would be welcome, thinking of something with 12 or 14 mag, budget maybe around £200-£250.

Lucky for me a customer had just come back with a CZ set up that morning, he was moving house and didn't need his rifle. So i bought it straight off the dealer its the 16" barrel version in .22 with a bushnell trophy 3-9x50 scope, I bought a new sak mod for it. Dealer reckons its had 100-150 rounds through it, couple of small scratches on the stock but i'm happy! Picked up a hard case as well for them.

Thank for the help guys, roll on the rabbits!!

Thanks for the comments guys, Good to hear you've also got your FAC! well done.

Took her out the other night, only seen one rabbit but had bottles set up so me and my mate put 40 rounds through the gun. Really nice to use, very quite with the subs and was hitting the targets out to 75m. Going to get some proper paper targets set up and see how my groups are. Also ordered a nikko stirling nighteater 4-16x50 and a harris bipod for the HMR so hopefully get that fitted and zeroed ASAP.

      Hello all.?
Just an update as it has been a while.I have been looking for a subsonic .22LR hollow point that shoots well from a cold clean bore and have recently started using RWS subs which do well, typically from the first shot..I have used a few different brands of subsonic H.P.s and they all group quite well after 5 or so fouling shots, but RWS like the cold clean bore, needless to say I am a happy and for me, decent shooting.?.I have used the RWS before in the old Annie 1416 DG and it was equally consistent in that rifle.
A couple of typical below all from a cold clean bore..My scope is a Hawke Vantage x2 -x7 32mm A.O. with illuminated reticle which is a great field scope but lacks magnification for target shooting so is sometimes difficult to deduce if a shot has been pulled, but I love the scope.
      Have a good weekend all.?

Hi all, just an update.I have had this rifle for over a year now and still really like it a lot. I have not modified it in any way and it is as out of the box.
It is an easy rifle to shoot well with a pretty good trigger (pulling at 2.6 lbs out of the box and very smooth), accurate, lightweight and utterly reliable.
I now have the benefit of hindsight and  purchasing this rifle was a good decision and I would do so again absolutely.
I use an inexpensive but very good Hawke Vantage x2-x7 32mm A.O. scope with an illuminated reticle. I sometimes use a SAK moderator on the gun, a very good mod.
      Have a good weekend.?.
