She's only young and learning.

 

If they're muzzled in proper racing then they should be muzzled in the racing at the shows. If you know your dogs aggressive then don't race her. I don't. Maybe I didn't write it properly on the first post.

 

I was referring to the actual racing. The dogs just young like I said and only ran again mates dogs who are clearly faster than her. 9 tines out of 10 she's fine.

 

I don't run her at the shows, only on her own but I was making the point that everybody would say 'aye, my dogs

Fine' and you have to trust it. Then 200m away they're going hell for leather and your trying to run the distance to stop them.

 

Better safe than sorry IMO.

Now that's not nice

no a necessity , but if theres an agressive dog well yes it needs to be   after lots of phone calls, muzzles are a necessity and must be worn , fialure to wear muzzle , no race

At Hawick just now in the camper. It`s wet, with a capital wubbleyew. The Teviot is 10 yards from me and is mega high. Got the oars on standby, see yeh aw the morn

well what a day , i'm grateful to the hardy souls who supported our show, without you theres no show ,

congrats to , mark bryden on winning the terrier championship

congrats also to dave mccrea on winning the lurchers

 

congrats also to dave mccrae on winning the overs racing , but the little pocket rocket , roxy, won the run off between , overs and unders,

congrats too ,to wee sean on judy's win in the terrier racing

Aye good day out, weather held out too, rained for like a minute, but was still warm, well done to the judges on the day, (my dog won feck all........again) well done to the organisers but I'm bringing my own juice next year £1 a can! The boy needed a mask, not just coz of the prices but he had a coupon like a melted welly boot, one suggestion for next year, have an alaunt & alaunt x class? There was a fair few kicking about, cracking looking animals some of them, all in all a good day, I know for definate there's one photo of me and I look forward to seeing the rest, well done to all involved. :thumbs:

Yeah good day today. Rain wasn't bad and the weather was good

To us I would say. Could have been worse.

 

I will be back next year.

 

What happened to 'sporting dogs' me and rm2508 passed him on the A701 heading back towards Edinburgh :laugh:

      QUALIFIERS are available to GB SHOW ORGANISERS for the following CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
                                                     at the IRISH GAME FAIR, Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 29/30 June.
      1. FIVE NATIONS WHIPPET CHAMPIONSHIP
      2. FIVE NATIONS LURCHER CHAMPIONSHIP
      3. FIVE NATIONS TERRIER CHAMPIONSHIPS
      4. MASTER MC GRATH LURCHER CHALLENGE  Two dogs to qualify from each show ( over and under 23")
      5. MICK THE MILLER CHALLENGE for Traditional HAIRY LURCHERS any size. Two to qualify from each show. 
      EACH CHAMPIONSHIP HAS £200 to the Winner £50 to the Runner Up plus other prizes and quality trophies.   As the 31st ANNUAL All Ireland Championships ( Showing & Racing) also take place this weekend ( which are open all ) qualifiers can have a real opportunity to compete for titles and prizes with the best of Irish dogs. 
      To recognise the additional costs of coming to the event for GB qualifiers, they get FREE tickets to the show and special ferry and accommodation rates and each GB qualifying event organiser gets £50 for their best in show winner.

      IN 2018, for one year only,  the GREAT GAME FAIRS of Ireland team have combined their ROI event ( Previously at BIRR CASTLE) and the NI events into one very special 40th ANNIVERSARY ALL IRELAND Game Fair to take place at Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 23rd & 24th June.   All facets of the event have been extended and enhanced including the competitions with specially 'ruby enhanced' trophies to be won outright.  The ROI Game Fair will return to a new larger venue in the Irish Midlands on the 24/25 August 2019.
