Poor old Peregrine was taking some towards the end, you have to give crows some respect the way they back each other up when one's in trouble .

how far can these falcons end up after flying off the fist? do hawks stay closer to the falconer? iv always fancied one just dont know enough about them thats. i dont want a falcon id want something to take rabbits and the odd bird.

you'd be surprised what falcons can and will take mate  your best off getting a couple of good books on falconry and reading them, they will give you insight to what to do and also the level of commitment you need to be able to give  then if you still interested get yourself out with someone who already into it, spend a season with them if possible, it looks like its all good but it is indeed hard work and commitment,

Hawks generally suit most peoples needs far better than falcons , easier to get the right sort of hunting land for, most who fly falcons do so accepting they will not get the very best out of them as the land no longer exists to fly em to there full potential amd what land there is can cost fortunes to fly even if you can get permisson.

yeah mate its a gyr saker tiercel, he never wanders too far mate to be honest, almost like a harris hawk, except he follows in circles, hewas trained on ground lure and dragged carcass, shows indifference to ariel game, although he had odd bit of feather, comes back into swung lure though, later in season he started to circle fields and spot hares himself in seats and stoop then as well, the rabbits he has found himself and odd one from fist, hares mainly flown from fist with dog flushing them and keeping them out of cover, had telemetry out twice so far this season,
