You ask any question simple or otherwise and some f*****g prick garanteed starts quoting laws and spouting the legalities of shooting, if I wanted to be dictated to and listen to crap like that I'd have been in the business of law. Your not always right, and I'll bet you shoot small game with big guns which is overkill! So f**k off and read another dictionary I just am interested in points of views on delicate subjects that's it. For example why can we snare rabbits and not dear they are both animals except one looks lovely and the other doesnt, like why can't you kill dear stone dead with a head shot with an hmr or .22 but can blow it's f*****g guts out hoping you'll hit the heart how's that humane? Its all objective. Shooters won't go outside the law because it governs whether they can continue to participate in shooting or not. They won't risk their FACs. Well, I have this strange foible, I think it's quite important for me to understand as best I can the rules that govern what I am, and am not, allowed to do with a firearm. I'm quite fond of shooting, and I'd rather not lose the right to own and use firearms because I was ignorant of the law. Ignorantia_juris_non_excusat So, if you want to go and do illegal stuff, and risk losing your certificate, which I obviously believe that you have because you know SO much about firearms and the practical application of the law as it affects the legitimate user, then you go right ahead. Personally I will post the actual word of the law when you are busy posting dangerous rubbish, because I'd hate to have some poor newbie lose their right to shoot because they took some of your, patently wrong, advice. I have never encouraged probed or tried to sway people into the direction of illegalities. Neither have I used or said I have shot animals illegally with any calibre rifle. As for my aggresion it is misconstrued by the inept and hypocritical likes of a small minority it's called a figure of speech, I asked the question would you, I did note make a statement saying I had. Also I did not generalise or throw at best cheap whit at a whole region of people like the above has. As for questioning my belonging in the world of shooting and my effects on the newbies ask yourself this....... Why is it you so called experts with next to perfect accuracy with large caliber rifles feel the need to shoot a magnificent animal like a dear in the chest? Contaminating the meat and basically ripping the animals stomach apart which you say is humane. Why not if your that good take the head shot and end it quick. Maybe your not all your cracked up to be and the carrot crunching yokel is, 600 meter+ flat firing centre fire, yeah let's blow it's guts out well humane anyway I need to clean my dummy and get to bed Quote Link to post

I will listen and try understand all who engage with me, but there is a difference between a debate even a heated one, and some complete f*****g ass trying to dictate quoting laws he or she has probably no clue about. Only causes blood damage to the smaller muscle groups around the shoulders (great for burgers) I too make sure i keep within the law as i fancy doing this for the rest of my life (doesn't mean i agree with all of the laws in place) No need to thank me for this info, although i fully expect a reply calling me a c*nt. Don't you mean .223 or 308 Chest shooting a deer doesn't 'rip the stomach apart' - thats gut shooting. You may lose a bit of shoulder meat, generally more so if you use a quicker bullet but a lot depends on exactly where the bullet strikes. If the beast is quatering and you took a 'chest' shot you may well damage the gralloch - generally you'd have patience and wait for a better position or just not shoot. Experience (as opposed to blind bullshit) will teach you that head shooting doesn't leave a lot of room for error and even a small error of judgement can result in nose, jaw shooting. An animal shot this way (once its recovered from the shock) will generally have a lot more 'go' about them and is unlikely to bleed out, more likely starve to death or die of shock once its stopped running. Whilst a .22 rimmy or HMR would drop a deer It's ILLEGAL and f*****g STUPID. In any case if you shooting is anything like your winging internet patter i'd stick to computer games.
