Youngsters do pick up quick but it can be all 'piss an vinegar' as they charge in, ever too keen with a nose full and loosing the 'direct' in there enthusiasm. gonetoearth 5,144 Posted March 12, 2012 Report Share Posted March 12, 2012 scent, weather, time of year is a big part in hunting with hounds as is the selection of the pack to suit the country on the day. just as important is the prep of the pack . packs fed on raw meat and kennel prepared feed have better noses , packs that are fed mass produced meal with countless aditives are impeaded, this was a statment in a coversation i was lucky to be involved in interesting thought Quote Link to post
