trinder 127 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Share Posted February 24, 2012 Went out thismorning on our last ferreting trip of season , we started off with just my mates old border x russell bitch which never fails to mark and drive to ground , going was good we managed to bag 4 but missed 2 as the bolt holes were covered over with ivy ! We then went home bout 11 to grab my russell x dog and my lazy ass mate and his old as f**k patxrussell bitch i call him lazy cause while the me and my 2 other mates were up at half 5 he got up bout ten and rang us , we then went to my mates permission and managed to get another 2 , the last spot we missed the rabbit as it was un nettable and had to rely on the dogs . The lucky fcuker managed to find a gap between the dogs and head for fence with my 2 year old dog hot on its ass and just made it under the fence and across next field ! All in all a good few hours out and my dog got to work with other terriers instead of just him and my lurcher which was good , he must've picked up some stuff off the old girls cause he was using his voice alot more and marking alot bettes than he has done in past so happy days . We are all going to go out for a dig on the weekend now to help a farmer out who is going to have lambs on the ground soon hopefully my dog will pick up stuff from watching my mates other bitch work an earth and get into it he has tried going to ground so i know he is keen but i want to get him watching what is expected of him for next season .
