A good day

Recommended Posts

Invited a mate over today to knock a fallow doe of which he carried out succesfully, got it ready for the freezer then it was out in the afternoon with 2 of his JRT bitches 1 of which is the dam of Tilly my 7 month pup, also took along my JRT dog pup of 10 months for his 1st experience (to look and learn). We drew a blank on four and was going to call it a day but went to an old den that actually didn't look up to much when we got there. He slipped 1 of the bitches and in she went, showed more or less straight away at the next hole but doubled back quick fire in another gear, the box was showing her moving away into the field and within a minute I got the nod of the mate that she was on. I nipped back for the motor, drove down the fields and got it on site. The dog was still at it in the same place with a reading of 1.4. Started the dig and broke through on them both at a stop end, pulled the dog and despatched the fox. Just managed to get back filled just before we lost daylight. The estate owner will be well pleased when I inform him that his game birds will be a lot safer now another 1 has gone, even though its nigh on the end of the season

A pic from today (a bit poor taken off the phone)
