Thanks, I've got to go dig up one tomorrow that came off my dog ...

MANY moons ago I was hunting in an old sheep barn that hadn't been cleaned in YEARS. The holes were literally down in dried up layers of manure. Anyway I lost a dog and could NOT find him anywhere. It got later and later until it was nearing midnight. FINALLY he came out and I grabbed him and threw him in the box and headed home. When I unloaded him at home his collar was still on him but the transmitter had been bitten off. ( I know sounds like B.S but there were tooth marks on the part that was left.) Anyway I heade back to the barn to find my transmitter and I got a locate on it and started digging down through the layers of dried manure. I hit a tunnel and reached my hand in to grab the transmitter and grabbed an opossum. I am jittery at night outside anyway but when I grabbed that thing I damned near pissed my pants. It was dead as hell and my transmitter was under it.( BTW it was an old original deben)

Yep Steve, I think that would make my heart skip a beat to..

buster dog, 12 holy cow that would get real expensive real fast...

Well took me about 2 1/2 hours but I got it, dug down between 7 and 8 feet...The collar was pretty chewed up and the coon had completely unfastened it , it did not slip over his head , I found that to be suprising...I just wish I would have found him at the beging of my three hour search, that way I could have dug to him while he was engaged with the coon...It sure messed his face up...
