Military maxi kite night vision scope what are they worth ???

Recommended Posts

The Kite was built to kill people not vermin so with the chevron ret and parallex issue on most Kites its hard to place the shot on a rabbit or fox size target past 100yards.

They make very good spotters and can make a very good weapon sight but usually alot of money needs to be spent on them to correct the parallex and replace the chevron ret to a dutch ret, i know one person that does repairs on the kite as its a bit of a specialised job and certain tools are needed.

Most Kites are sold as gen 3 but turn out to be 25 year old gen 2 EEV tubes so be careful, second/hand price is around £1000 to £2500 depending on spec and model.

Hope this helps.

As above , I have been offered one and wonder what they are worth. I would think it would be gen 3.

Thanks

the piture the give i second to non providing they have the right tube in them most of these units have parallax issues more Misses than hits . i have built a bino kite for spotting nothing beats it i have compered it to my pvs7s and my pvs14s . you carnt use eny ir with this unit as it burns the tube within seconds but then again it dont really need it i was out the uther night it was raining and misty one of the worst night you could imagine i still spotted the fox probably maybe 400 yards

This is the problem when people struggle to know the distance and start guessing with the wording like probably / maybe  l seen many kites inculding Richard Smiths who does a lot of work for starlight and probably has one of the best Kites in the UK you should ask your NV friends about him as he has done work for one of them too.

You might see a fox at 400 yards on a good night and on a field like a golf course with out any IR but when you start telling people it was raining and misty :hmm::D:cray: i don't dismiss the fact you have a good bit of kit but no need to over exaggerate its performance because if it was that good it means you are stating you have a piece of NV kit thats better than what the USA military are using :hmm: ( i have built a bino kite for spotting nothing beats it i have compered it to my pvs7s and my pvs14s ) if this is the case then maybe you should contact the UK military or the USA military and explain to them where they are going wrong :victory:

the bino kite is built for the military its just you can't get your hand on them easily they are for spotting the enemy without ir.every thing i posted was true you couldn't use an ir with this unit even if you wished to. and yes starlight help me put the unit together. i have known Julian for over 10 years the first time i met him was when i went to see him with night hunter . dont dismiss my post until you have actually looked thru it im no body's fool when it comes to night vision ive owned or used about ever night vision device there is. and i do agree with you. you will need ir light in some condition but you will burn the tube with this unit no matter which ir light you use. pleas do come to the nightvision meeting and look for your self before you dismiss my post as i have said . i have been running these night vision meeting's for 6 years now

there is a night vision tube out there that can see thru fog easily its called the omni 7 :victory:

What a load of dog's poo you talk . you should read your posts before answering, one minute you can spot a fox in the rain and fog at 300 to 400 yards and now you are agreeing with me that you need ir in certain conditions, well rain and fog have got to be the worst .

The omni 7 is a good tube but CANNOT see in the fog and for someone that has owed every night vision unit you do talk some crap, this might be why you have been kicked off most of the forms, i've had 6 emails about you and only been on here for 5 minutes

As for knowing Julian for over 10 years well we all have our problems, i see the bino kite is built for the military and you can't get you're hand on them , this must be a miss print http://www.hellotrad...binoculars.html by julian

Carry on doing your night vision meets as you might learn something :victory:

you can't buy a us mill speck unit in this country no matter who you go to. yes, starlight will sell you a bino kite. will it be us mill spec? no it won' t. it will be a good unit. don't get me wrong,. but you will need ir light at some point.

go to one of the night vision meetings and see the real stuff not the stuff you can buy from this country. because with the real us gen 3 gear you don't need ir light to spot a fox and if you had seen through some you would know but i guess you haven't. i could talk to you and learn you something but i guess your one of them that seems to know every thingk.so give me your phone number and the next time my phone rings i can just give them your number, and you can answer their questions. theres always one i and i always seem to attract them. and this one came off the bbs, ulterior motive i think. but at least i use the same user name. if you want to talk to me in a proper manner please do so if not then don't talk to me at all.

a proper comment would be, " pete i think your mistaken" and yes the omi 7 can cut through fog there's not menny people seen through one and i doubt you have .if you want please come herer and talk to me i promises i wont ban you. nightvisionforum.freeforums.org

kites if set up correct with the right tube are more than capable just use the centre dot on small stuff.does not cost much to correct parallax issues if you know who to ask ;) also you can have them set to focus up close ;) quality robust scope with brill optic's  just say hi to all :bye:

i like your handle made me :D you seem to know a lot about the kite personally i havent owned one because all the people i have spoken to that use them say they'ar not accurate enough for the purpose we want to use them for. i have seen through quite a few of them though and they give a brilliant picture even with a gen 2 tube in them the bino kite I use has a mx10130 tube in it and as i have said before you can't use ir light with it or the tube will burn
