Rat killing

So i rememberd my camera this time for by twice weekly rat shoot on my permission.

at the moment there are a few cattle in the old barn and the farmers keeping some of last years maze down here for ease of a quick feed but as you can imagine the rats are all over it and the pile is being reduced very quickly by the rats .

so i arrive as ushall when the dark is just setting in , set up the nightvision on to my AIR ARMS S410 checked all 3 magazines where full and loaded the first one in turned on the NV and started to wonder over to the maze heap when i picked up some movement looked through th NV and there they where all sat feed ing on the heap i could only see 6 but i assumed there where some others on the otherside so i set up my shooting sticks and took aim at the biggest rat .whacked him just behind the ear and the others scarperd but for some unknown reason 1 of them came straight back to feed so i whacked him just behind the eye .

I waited for 10 mins but nothing so i moved over to where i know a dead yew was put a day ago to see if the rats where aware of it yet .

the answer was YES as i scanned the carcus there was a set of eyes shinning out of the poor thing arse so i wacked him but he managed to die inside the carcus  ..

I moved on as there where no more sighting and i scanned the maze where yet again the rats where feeding so i reset up and whacked another and i watched the others scarper but one of the was hiding behind 1 i shot earlier so i whacked him. and with nothing showing itself i went to the house for a well deserved cuppa .

i returned to the maze heap once i warmed up and AGAIN they where feeding again so i whacked another 1.

As i was scanning the area there was another pair of eyes glowing from under the door of the old pheasant pen so i whacked him which saw the last rat of the night .... till next week my little furry feckers

Well done mate some good vermin control work there.

Size don't matter mate as they all still breed and produce hungry months which rob the maze etc.

I would sooner shoot 3 or 4 normal size or baby rats than nothing at all.

Keep up the good work pal.

Si
