micky 3,325 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Share Posted January 18, 2007 in all the pictures about ferriting you see spades, nets, ferrits, and locators, but never see a probe.its one of the best bit of kit you can carry, it can save hours of digging, used as a walking stick,to carry the bag,and in my lads case use it to push down the top wire on some electric fencing. micky Quote Link to post

jigsaw 11,809 Posted January 23, 2007 Report Share Posted January 23, 2007 Mines made from 5/8 stainless steel,used to poke a hole in the ground where the locator finds the collar.Also used to dig away at the sides of the opening before breaking through to the ferret or dog.I have 2,1 for ferreting made of lighter steel and 1 for terrier work.Damn handy for tossing the dead rabbits onto after being legged at the end of the day.
