Not sure if this is the right place for this

My mates got a silver birch tree in his garden and he wants to cut it down

my cousin reckons your not alowed to cut them down

Does anyone know where you stand with this

If it's in a conservation area, you'll have to apply to the council etc to fell it and you'll need a damn good reason for them to grant permission.

With this in mind I suppose the answer to your question is yes, they are protected, but check with your local Council first................Al :drink:

I HAD A TREE IN MY GARDEN AND I ACCIDENTLY SPILLED SOME ENGIN OIL AROUND THE ROOTS....WAS A FECKER THAT

Make sure it doesn't have a Tree Preservation Order on it, or you will get some officiuos tw*t try to make heep big trouble for ya.
