breaking in my gun

well just took my new lightning xl .22 out to zero it in...not the best of days as its a bit windy i set some targets up at about 30/35 yds and put around 200 pellets thruogh her and ide say that % of them were grouping at around 1" but the other 20% were way off maby 2".....will this settle down do youy think..as for the wind the 20" that were off were in all directions

Wind will cause havoc, but I'd still keep running it in, then when you go out on a "wind free" day :thumbs-up: , sorted, mind you bulls, I was in a very similar situation with £3ks worth of rifle/scope , only to be told there was nowt wrong with the gun .

Seriously though, I'd keep putting rounds through it until the weather settles........Al

Oh!, forgot, try diferent pellets to compare.

Yea wind will send them of big time, i done hft yesterday and some shots were going about an inch or 2 of becouse of the wind, but keep putting them pellets through the lightning, run it in

Try different pellets as well. Some air rifles dont like some types of pellets.

Bulls; I put RWS Super Hollows through my XL. Shot like a dream from first to last, mate. So I'd say it's the wind ~ or you're a f*ckin useless shot!

my old man as always used H&N FIELD TARGET TROPHY or RWS SUPERDOME, he would'nt use anything else.
