what type of resin would you use?

Have a couple in the gunroom. I peeled the tail of the bone and washed it 1st. Then got a 2 litre plastic milk carton (washed it out) and half filled it with meths. Push the tail through the top and close carton with cap. Give it a good shake and leave for a week, shaking it once every day. Take tail out and wash and you will have no problems. :thumbs:

of course, again far better if you strip the tail from the bone, can be tricky first time, but easy to do, I have both fox and squirrel tails

Always found squirrel tails were a b*stard to skin! slicing gently round the base of the tail without cutting into the flesh is always the hardest bit. If you nick the flesh then when you try to pull the skin off the bone the tail just snaps off usually....

Hi there, any idea where i would obtain BOREX? Hardware/DIY store? chemists? Ive heard of it before but never seemed to see it anywhere?

hello pal any time iv done a fox tail iv put it in methalated spirits for a couple of week it seems to work ok.

well whenever we got given any from hunts kills we always just shoved them in menths for few weeks ..never bothered taking bone out ...we have some from when i was at school and they still fine and no hair gone..got brushes fox pads hares feet allsorts ...even a squirrel tail somewhere...hope it works for you and goes well :thumbs:
