Guest ROXY Posted December 11, 2006 Report Share Posted December 11, 2006 I have a HW and was wondering if ibought one of those pigeon decoys that spin round, would i get them close enough to shoot, i live next to a field so i could shoot from inside of a shed, im new to guns so go easy on me, i work terriers and lurchers but i thought id give it a go. Yokel Matt 918 Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 A rotory 'pigeon magnet' will bring birds within range of a shotgun on the wing but they will very rarely land near one. Full bodied decoys lofted in a tree are a good bet for a static target if you have a suitable sitty tree. Remote control flappers may also work as they can be activated to attract a passing bird but then left off so as not to spook one when it lands. Your HW80 will easily take pigeons out to 30-40 yards.
