These were taken over where i live last week ....Cloud or ash from the volcano in iceland ...any ideas anyone

Whats that?
Ive alwyas been inetrested in stuff like this, though does look like a reddish purple tinge that could be dried ash?

The colours in the cloud are called irisation - a kind of spectrum effect from splitting light (a bit like a rainbow I suppose)

It often happens with that type of high cloud if the sun angles are right
