Tomnobes

As you have relatively recently become involved with NOBS you may not be aware that I supported NOBS in its intial form, both financially and in attending countless shows and enlisting many members over the first years, and also in purchasing most of the merchandise in the shop. For example 4 fleeces, spare wheel cover, lanyards, car stickers, badges, stormsure adhesive, uncle freds wire cover, several priests etc etc.

Mark Elliott was my guest on a days shooting I bought.

After some years I asked why no accounts were produced for members as every other countryside organisation to which I belonged either mailed them or had them on line. I was told theye were available at companies house for a fee, Until then I did not realise that NOBS was a limited company, that members paying subs were not members but customers and they had no say in how it was run.

I was told, at a Dorset Training Day which we attended with a BBQ and dummy launchers etc by the then RO "not to rock the boat or else". Subsequently I was, as I was later told, suspended from NOBS Forum, pity no one had the courtesy to advise me of that fact at the time.

Examine the accounts - over recent years many thousands of pounds has been spent on computer hardware and software - but still NOBS does not function efficiently - was this money well spent or not?

I am not bitter more sad that what was a brilliant concept is but a shadow of what it could have been.

Look at NOBS Forum - so few posts compared to previous times.

Step back and take an unbiased look and assess it for yourself.

The Gatekeeper posted:

"ALL assumptions and WRONG ones too, that is why you and pubs man fit together so well. Maybe you are just ignorant to the facts or vindictive, I don't know, but it is one of them.

Tell me though, what is bitter about asking a person to live by the principles he demands right for others? Pubs do what they criticise in others. There are still no finances on pubs, he will keep some private, he bans members for asking questions. When he does what he demands of others then perhaps he will have some solid ground to talk from."

I shall explain in simple terms as it seems that TG cannot understand the difference between a corporate entity, with a Board of Directors unelected by the persons paying fees, and a simple Forum which is free and supported by one person with VOLUNTARY donations from others.

A limited company is obliged to submit an annual return and accounts to Companies House but below a certain figure the Board can elect NOT to have those accounts audited, which is exactly what the NOBS Board does and fails to supply the accounts to people paying fees. Detailed breakdown of expenditure is quoted but not for income so the actual income from fees is not available.

I am sure that many others especially NOBS trade supporters and advertisers in their newsletters would be interested in knowing the actual paid up membership figure as opposed to the oft quoted misleading figure of 9,500+ which the accounts disclose cannot be accurate as total income is less than £19,0000 for 2009, that from all sources!

Expendture of some £16,000 in recent years on computer hardware and software is interesting as PuBS operates from a small laptop with mobile broadband for an initial purchase of £399 and £15 per month for the broadband, £29.97 for the dongle!

I am sure that people reading these posts will note that bitterness and vindictiveness is rather one way and aimed at one person - I always try and not target any one personally but then most are cyber warriors hiding behind pseudonyms.

The Gatekeeper was banned from my forum but as I offered he can rejoin, if he has problems then I will personally register him under whatever new id he wishes to use. He has yet to take up my offer - nuff said I think!

Tomnobes asks why I am concerned about NOBS Finances - it is patently obvious he has not read them or he may not realise how bad they are.

Total Income is down by over £10,275 due to loss of nearly £6,000 Mitsubishi sponsorship, despite a raffle for a beaters trailer(won by ticket number 6,000+) and the launch of a book on picking up. If over 6,000 raffle tickets at a £1 were sold the income figure is worse than anticipated.

Total income was £18,280 from all sources so they cannot have the claimed 9,500 + as paid up members, even at £5 that would result in income of £47,500 +!!

Expenditure has been pruned by a total £5,178, but printing post and stationery has increased by nearly £4,000, NOBS regalia (presumably merchandise)has reduced by £2,200, reflecting the position of the NOBS Shop where a lot of things are "Out of Stock", so revenue from merchandise sales at shows will be down next year.

A loss of £320 was made over the year ended June 30th 2009.Full accounts are available at getitorfyerchest.myfunforum.org.

Next years accounts, if the same drop in revenue occurs, will result in NOBS running into the red within two years.

What will happen to those people who have paid up hoping to find a position on a shoot then?

Oh dear, Pubsman.

This really is all evidence of your obsession with things that you cannot have or be. You demand things of others but cannot deliver yourself. You are fed a line by someone and take everything to the point of stupidity. You have said before you left both nobs and shooting community, yet you then claim to anyone who will listen that you were banned. Something you say you despise, but then you ban people from pubs, you are so inconsistent. You fail to inform your members of your finances, but demand that of others, and yours are members not customers as you are so keen to point out. You and only you has a say in who is appointed a senior position in pubs, something you say is wrong elsewhere.

Thank you for showing everyone your true colours and agenda. You are the one who seeks to harm anyone who tries to have a different point of view to yours. You have no sense of reason and have attacked someone on your other forum who has had to deal with more than one death recently.

You are the poison pen of the shooting world a man without feeling or reason. You are easily set up and hurt people without thought.

I will now leave this discussion, because you will probably pour more scorn and sick rumours where you can find an audience. Just because things don't go the way that you want them to. It's all about you, you, you!

TG

Firstly I have never made any PERSONAL attacks on my forums, unlike you who seems to want to have a go at me every time, just proves you should examine firstly your motives and also your probity. Regarding death, as you are no doubt aware, I have dealt with the loss of my wife last October, suddenly following hip replacement surgery, after 37 years together so I know how to deal with loss. You attacked me then for still running PuBS Forum - for your information she was thrilled at how PuBS had grown and was working so well and wanted it to develop and get more people on shoots. In her memory I shall endeavour to do so.

NOBS and Shooting Community - I could not log on to NOBS Forum and presumed that I had, like many others, been banned - later, much later I was told that I had been "suspended" - shame no one had the courtesy to tell me at the time.

SC - I asked for my account to be deleted and it was, fact.

Finances - yet again you simply cannot grasp that PuBS members do not pay a penny - I pay the bills so why should I not appoint suitable persons to help out, in fact as a Forum we dont need Regional Officers, local reps or more than a few moderators, because people and shoots do all the legwork and I just provide a simple method for them to make contact - down to the fact that I am too idle to use a massive database and search it everytime that a vacancy occurs - except NOBS dont seem to even search when that happens! Read the posts on PuBS Forum and you will find them friendly and relaxed, some ecven poke fun at me - so what!!

Anyone reading your posts will see that poison pen, vindictiveness, scorn and sick rumours seem to be a one way traffic from yourself.

By all means leave the discussion, that is what people expect from NOBS and like minded people, they and you never address people's genuine concerns. Such actions always result in more rumours arising even if concerns are unfounded.

Agreed Stewie but NOBS repeatedly asserts that IT IS THE ONLY one linking shoots and beaters etc., it is NOT, but is the only one to charge for the priviliege.

Frequently Keepers and Shoot Captains have told myself and others that they paid once but will never do so again, often hearing absolutely nothing, and the same has been experienced by people seeking shoots - just read this topics posts!
