WHILE SINCE I WAS A KEEPER BUT JULY ON OUR ESTATE WOULD FIND US FEEDING ANY BIRDS THAT WERE DOWN, @ FIRST LIGHT, BREAKFAST THEN FILLING FEED BINS, FEED SHEDS, ROUNDING CATTLE, ENDLESS FOX DRIVING, REPAIRING BUTTS, LOPING TREES,

UNLOADING 40FT TRAILERS FULL O SPRATTS PELLETS.(NE FORKLIFT) . PAINTING OUT GAME ROOMS, MAKING FEATHER LINES, REPAIRING TRACTORS TRAILERS, FILLING POT HOLES, RE-SETTING SNARES AND EMPTYN FEN TRAPS OF HEDGEYS, MAINTAINING FENCING, MENDING TREE PLANTATION MESH FENCING, AND A LOT MORE, BUT WORST OF ALL WAS THE SCICALING/OR SYTHING OF THE BANK SIDES, NO STRIMMERS. ALL MANUAL CUTTING THE BRACKEN/NETTLES BRAMBLE BACK TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE DOGS PICKIN UP (NEVER REALLY SAW THE POINT IN THIS).

WE WERE PUTTING DOWN 90/95K OF PHESEANTS, AND TO BE HONEST WERE BASICALLY GLORIFIED FARM LABOURERS. BUT EVERY ESTATE VARIOUS IN WORK LOAD, LAY OUT OF LAND, BIRDS REQUIRING KEEPERING ETC.

HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR EXPERIENCE YOUNGIN,

Grouse keeper run off his feet :clapper: that will be a first

Maybe in scotland... Thats why you've got no grouse up there! :p

Nah its just coz we have vermin up here to shoot, makes the job that bit of of a challenge. down there if you gets a stoat in a trap you all go down the pub for a party.

Might be a southern pansy but still shooting 4 or 5 thousand brace a year! lol

I will admit though, from what ive heard, you lads do have a bit of vermin to go at. Not that we have it easy where i am.

Aye alright...............lazy c**t. LOL.

Just messing bud, many a keeper would give his right arm on a place as productive as that, but you cannae beat the scottish grouse for sporting value - not my words, a very keen grouse shot.

Those soft english grouse are more like partridge. :whistling:

Keep it up mate, yous are the only ones giving the job credability at the moment.
